GE Healthcare, a world leader in protein analysis for the development of medical products, had several specifications for their X100 protein analysis machine.

The machine, which is designed for university researchers, medium-sized academic labs and small biotech companies, had to be reliable, flexible, simple to use and intuitive. In addition, it had to have a small footprint. Surface space in labs – especially those in Japan – is limited, so the machine needed to be compact.
